Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Tend: Streaks & Dates (“Tend”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) handles information.
Tend is a local-first app. Your tracker data is stored on your device. If you choose to enable iCloud Sync, tracker data can also be stored and synchronized through Apple’s CloudKit service in the private iCloud database associated with your Apple Account. iCloud Sync is optional and off by default. Tend does not use cross-app tracking, third-party advertising SDKs, or third-party analytics services.

2. Data stored by the app
Tend lets you create trackers for streaks, due routines, and meaningful dates. The data you enter may include tracker names, dates, completion history, reminder settings, and app preferences.
Tend stores this data locally on your device using Apple system storage. If you enable iCloud Sync, tracker data is also synchronized through Apple’s CloudKit service and stored in your private iCloud database. We do not operate our own server for storing or synchronizing your tracker data.
3. No account
Tend does not require you to create an account with us. Optional iCloud Sync requires an Apple Account signed in to iCloud on your device.
4. No tracking and no advertising
Tend does not track you across apps or websites. Tend does not use third-party advertising SDKs.
5. No analytics
Tend does not use third-party analytics services.
6. iCloud / CloudKit
Tend offers optional iCloud Sync, which is off by default. If you enable it, Tend uses Apple’s CloudKit service to synchronize your tracker data across devices signed in to your Apple Account. Synced data is held in the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account, not on a server operated by us. The private database is controlled by your Apple Account, and its contents are not visible to us through Apple’s developer portal. Without iCloud Sync, Tend continues to store tracker data locally on your device, subject to any device backups you configure.
7. Notifications
If you enable reminders, Tend may schedule local notifications on your device. These notifications are handled locally by iOS. Tend does not send reminder data to our servers.
You can manage notification permissions in iOS Settings.
8. App Lock and Face ID
If you enable App Lock, Tend may use Face ID or device authentication through Apple’s LocalAuthentication framework. Biometric data is handled by iOS and is not accessible to Tend.
9. In-app purchases
Tend Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. We do not receive your full payment details. Apple may process purchase-related information according to Apple’s own privacy practices.
10. JSON import and export
Tend may let you export or import your tracker data as a JSON file. Exported files are created only when you choose to export them. You are responsible for where you save or share exported files.
11. Support requests
If you contact us for support by email, we will process the information you provide, such as your email address, message content, and any screenshots or details you choose to include.
We use this information only to respond to your request and improve support.
12. Legal basis for processing
Where applicable under the GDPR, the legal bases may include:
- performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps, for providing the app and support;
- legitimate interests, for responding to support requests and maintaining the app;
- consent, where you explicitly grant permissions such as notifications;
- legal obligations, where we are required to keep certain records.
13. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your tracker data with advertisers or analytics providers.
Purchase processing is handled by Apple. If you enable iCloud Sync, Apple processes the synchronized data to provide its iCloud/CloudKit service. Email support may involve your email provider and our email provider.
14. Data retention
Tracker data remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall Tend, or otherwise remove the app data through iOS. If you enable iCloud Sync, synchronized tracker data may also remain in your private iCloud database. Uninstalling Tend from one device does not necessarily delete data stored in iCloud. You can manage your tracker data in Tend and use Apple’s available iCloud data-management controls for cloud-stored data.
Support emails may be retained for as long as needed to handle your request and for reasonable business or legal purposes.
15. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data.
Because tracker data is stored locally and, if you enable iCloud Sync, in the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account, we generally cannot access, export, or delete your tracker records on your behalf. You can manage your tracker data in Tend and manage cloud-stored app data through the available iCloud controls provided by Apple.

16. Children
Tend is not intended to knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data through a support request, please contact us.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
